During this week in GE sessions, students learnt new vocabulary (space) and new grammar (reported speech).

Students had tests of units 1-4, too.

In science sessions, students got familiar with the concepts of endangered animals and food chain.

This week in GE sessions, previous concepts /unit 1-5/ were reviewed.

In Science session, seasons, weather and living things were taught and practiced.

Also, they had a test of unit 4. (Written and oral)

۲nd (phonics 2)

In phonics sessions, all the blended sounds (long and short /oo/, long /u/, /oy/ and /sh/) were reviewed.

Long a:  /ai,a-e,ay/ was reviewed.

In science sessions, the concept of plant (parts of plants, needs of plants, shapes of plants) was reviewed.

It is a plant.

It has got seed, roots, stem, leaf and flower.

Plants need water, air, soil, and sun to grow.

Plants have different shapes. They are big, small, short or long.

In math sessions, students have been able to count numbers 1-100. Also the concept of fewer than and more than were reviewed.

In addition, following conversations were practiced:

Where is she? What is she doing?

Places and actions were reviewed.

Living room, kitchen, and bedroom, bathroom, watching TV, cooking, sleeping, and washing hands.

Mom, mom! Where are you?

Here darling! In the kitchen.

What are you doing? I’m making pizza.

Can I help you? Yes dear, thank you.

How can I help you? Please chop the onions.

Conversation 2: where does a doctor work? He works in a hospital.

۱st /phonics 1/

In phonics sessions, letters /a.m.t,s,I,p,n,h,I,t,p,l,r,u,o,c,b,d,f,w/ with their actions, formations, flashcards and sentences were reviewed.

Also, students have been able to read blended sounds and some simple sentences.

In GE sessions, following sentences have been practiced:

I like and I don’t like (peaches, oranges, ice cream, chocolate cake, orange juice, water, biscuits).

I have got 2 eyes, ears, legs, hands, arms.

I have got a nose, mouth, head.

In math session, numbers 1-12 were reviewed.

During this week, 5 senses were practiced and reviewed.

I can see with my eyes.

I can hear with my ears.

I can smell with my nose.

I can taste with my tongue.

I can touch with my hands.

Parts of the body were taught and reinforced (legs, hands, arms, eyes, ears, and belly). Students are able to make following sentences:

I have got two eyes.

I have got one nose.

I have got two hands.

In addition, birthday vocabularies were taught.

In phonics session, students got familiar with letters /c/ sound and words.

Car, cake, candle, candy, carrot, cat, coat

In MATH session, students learned numbers (11-12).

۲nd and 3rd /odi1/

Students got familiar with farms animals.

Cat, hen, duck, turkey, horse, cow, dog, tortoise, rabbits, goat

They are able to answer following questions:

Has it got wings? Yes, it has. No, it hasn’t.

Is it big? Yes, it is. No, it isn’t.

Have they got tails? Yes, they have. No, they haven’t.

۴th and 5th /odi3/

Students got familiar with wild animals.

Tiger, crocodile, lion, giraffe, monkey, elephant, hippo

Also, they learned where animals live.

Monkey sanctuary, zoo, safari park, reptile house, jungle.

Students got familiar with how much/how many. They are able to ask and answer following questions:

How much meat does a lion eat? It eats a lot.

How many leaves does a giraffe eat? It eats a lot.

How many teeth has a crocodile got? It has got a lot.

How much milk do you want? Not too much, just a little.

How many fries do you want? Not too many, just a few.

In addition, they learned “be going to” structure. They are able to talk about what they want to do in the future.

۱st grade (level 2)

Students learnt long a (ai). They practiced reading and writing ai words. They also practiced reading and writing sentences containing tricky words.

Students learnt about different parts of the plans. They were also taught about the jobs of each part and they finally learnt to utter the needs of plants.

Parts of the plan: roots, stem, leaves, flower, fruit

Needs of the plant: air (carbon dioxide), nutrients (soil), water, sunlight

۴th,5th,6th (level 2)

During the week students learnt the difference between must and should.

Must: rules => you must tidy your bedroom. You mustn’t sleep late.

Should: you should read a good book in your free time.
